One Of Them Days (2025)
Released in U.S. theaters on January 17, 2025, One of Them Days is directed by Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton, known for her sharp, culturally grounded storytelling (Rap Sh!t, Insecure).
Set in the heart of Baldwin Village, South Los Angeles, the film follows two broke but bonded roommates and best friends as they hustle their way through one chaotic day, trying to scrape together rent money before they get evicted. What starts as a simple “we just need $1,500” turns into a wild ride filled with sketchy side hustles, neighborhood drama, and unexpected self-discovery.
Think Friday After Next, but swap out the barbershop boys for Black women holding each other down through the mess. It’s a celebration of friendship, survival, and the kind of resilience only real ones know about. This ain’t just another feel-good flick—it’s a loud, messy, hilarious reminder that Black women survive damn near everything, and still show up with love.
